Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:42 a.m. Friday, June 1, East CR 450N and North CR 375E, Warsaw. Driver: Joel G. Katzer, 32, East Acorn Drive, Warsaw. Katzer advised that as he was heading east on CR 450N, his trailer came unhitched and struck a utility pole. Damage up to $2,500.
8:28 a.m. Friday, June 1, South SR 25 and West CR 100S, Warsaw. Drivers: Carter J. Kuntz, 17, West Park Avenue, Bourbon; and Rebecca A. Ditton, 22, North Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Kuntz advised he was stopped on CR 100S prior to the accident. He advised that he looked to the south and did not see any oncoming traffic so he proceeded to cross SR 25, at which time his vehicle struck Ditton’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:54 a.m. Friday, June 1, Boeing Drive, east of CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Mandy M. Kemper, 31, East Crow Road, Syracuse. Kemper advised she was westbound on CR 250N when a deer ran in front of her vehicle. Kemper’s vehicle struck the deer. Damage up to $5,000.
1:59 a.m. Thursday, May 31, EMS D15 Lane, west of North CR 500E, Syracuse. Driver: Michael G. Gross, 66, EMS D15 Lane, Syracuse. Gross advised that while he was driving his vehicle westbound on EMS D15 Lane, a deer entered the roadway. Gross swerved to avoid hitting the deer, resulting in his vehicle striking a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:46 p.m. Thursday, May 31, West Railroad Avenue, Syracuse. Drivers: Bethanie S. Smith, 19, South Redstone Court, Columbia City; and Jim A. Barlow, 27, North CR 200W, Wabash. Smith advised she was pulling out of a parking space when her vehicle struck Barlow’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:48 p.m. Thursday, May 31, US 30 and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Douglas R. Erne, 73, West CR 450N, Columbia City; and Linda L. Belcher, 60, Sycamore Avenue, Hanover Park, Ill. Erne’s vehicle rear-ended Belcher’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
