Robert D. Lozier, known to many as “Bob,” passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, from his Warsaw residence. He passed away at 10:30 a.m. at the age of 90.

He was a lifetime area resident and the son of Harry and Bertha (Snell) Lozier. He graduated from Leesburg High School with the class of 1946 and spent his lifetime in the Leesburg area.

On Dec. 10, 1950, Mr. Lozier was united in marriage to G. Jean Helser. They spent more than 35 years together before her passing Dec. 13, 1987. To their union, three children were born and many happy memories were made. He was blessed to find love twice and was married to Jane Kistler, Nov. 8, 2003. The pair shared 14 years together before his death, Friday morning.

Bob Lozier was a dairy and grain farmer, an honest and hardworking man, and a lover of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed time fishing in Birchwood, Wisc., on Chapman Lake and in Florida where he and his wife travelled each year. He always enjoyed traveling and, even during the dairy’s busiest years, was sure to make time each year to take his family camping. He enjoyed the quiet times too – tending to his vegetable garden, mowing the yard and reading the novels of Louis L’Amor.

Mr. Lozier wasn’t just a family man, he was active in his community and held a strong faith in Christ. He was a proud member of Warsaw Elks and Warsaw Moose Lodge. He was the past Director and President of Kosciusko County Farm Bureau and Director of Associated Milk Producers, Inc., where he also served on numerous corporate and regional boards. Bob was the President of Milk Promotion Services of Indiana and a longtime member of North Winona Church of the Brethren.

Those who survive include his wife, Jane Lozier; two sons: Doug (Kathy) Lozier of Carmel; and Chris (Deb) Lozier of Warsaw; daughter, Sue (Bob) Ludy of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Steffannie (Jim) Fuydal of Lebanon; Laura (Justin) Curtis of Leesburg; Cindy (Brent) Fifer of Warsaw; Tom (Ashley) Lozier of Leesburg; and Samantha Ludy of Lawrence; eight great grandchildren; brothers: Don (Miné) Lozier of Warsaw; John Lozier of Birchwood, Wisc.; and Joe Lozier of Pierceton; sister, Helen William of Kalamazoo, Mich.; brother-in-law, Carl Hudson of San Jose, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Christine Haney of Warsaw.

Also surviving are step-son, Troy (Christine) Kistler, step-daughter, Janelle (Larry) Jennings and step-grandsons, Jordan Jennings, Braxton Jennings, Mason Jennings, Dean Jennings, Dillion Jennings, Austin Long, Taran Kistler, Raiden Kistler and Brantzen Kistler – all of North Webster.

In addition to his first wife, Jean, Bob Lozier was preceded in passing by his two brothers, Carl and Dean Lozier, and sister, Retha Hudson.

The family will receive friends for a time of gathering and for viewing from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 29 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A traditional funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Smith of North Winona Church of the Brethren will officiate with burial in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
