PIERCETON — A female driver late Sunday morning, May 27, escaped serious injury when her single vehicle left the roadway on Wooster Road, just west of CR 500E and hit a utility pole.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officers and units from the Pierceton Fire Department were called at approximately 10:51 a.m. Sunday to a single-vehicle accident west of Pierceton.

First responders initially thought the driver had broken her arm, but the driver later reported feeling better and refused medical transport.

According to the investigating officer, the driver accidentally drove her tan Nissan Maxima off the roadway, which involved a drop-off into a soybean field of approximately five to 10 feet.
