Shirley Ann Pomeroy, 84, of Bremen, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2018.

Pomeroy was born on May 23, 1934, in Argos, the daughter of the late Merritt and Clara (Myers) Garner. On June 2, 1951, she married James Pomeroy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jim; two children, Doug (Nan) Pomeroy of Rochester and Karen Pomeroy of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Vickie Guhse of Rochester.

Pomeroy was raised and went to school in Argos. She and her family moved to Bremen in 1955 and she worked for Dietrich Company in Bremen for six years before starting her own clothing business in 1976.  She and her husband were owners of Almega/Tru Flex for several years. She was very active in Bremen Community Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as co-manager for several years.

She was also active in the Nappanee Missionary Church in many ways and the church missions were important to her. Pomeroy was on the original committee for the Bremen Octoberfest back in the 1970s and has served on various town committee projects.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, in Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel, 70417 St. Rd. 19 North, Nappanee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, in the Nappanee Missionary Church Worship Center, with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor David Engbrect will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial to be made to Transformation Ministries, 1519 Portage Ave, South Bend, IN 46616.
