Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

7:19 p.m. Thursday, May 24, East US 30 and South CR 325E, Warsaw. Drivers: Vajyile Mitole, 21, South 26th Street, South Bend; Vera A. Drudge, 80, South SR 13, Pierceton. Both drivers were traveling in their vehicles eastbound on US 30 and Drudge said she began to merge into the left lane and did not see the vehicle driven by Mitole, which caused the collision. Damage up to $5,000.

5:38 p.m. Thursday, May 24, Suzanne Bibler, 43, West Old Road 30, Warsaw; Joel E. Woods, 20, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Bibler told police she was driving her vehicle southbound in the private drive of Westhaven mobile home park and said she believed her brakes malfunction. Woods was traveling westbound in the park. Bibler’s vehicle collided with Woods’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

10:06 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, West State Street, east of Pearl Street, Etna Green. Driver: Colton J. Francis, 23, East CR 700N, Rochester. Francis told police he was texting while driving his vehicle eastbound on State Street. He said his vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, then a utility pole, then a tree. Francis was cited for unsafe speed and not wearing his seatbelt. He complained of wrist and abdominal pain and was later hospitalized for a laceration to the liver. Damage up to $25,000.

4:26 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, East Beer Road, east of North CR 175E, Milford. Driver: Cassandra L. Elson, 23, Maple Grove, Syracuse. Elson told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on Beer Road when a deer entered the roadway. She was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

4:26 p.m. Thursday, May 24, North SR 15, east of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Diane Lozano, 59, South SR 25, Warsaw; Kameron D. Redman, 18, Salman Drive, Warsaw. Lozano told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 15 and changed lanes without seeing the vehicle driven by Redman, which caused the collision. Damage up to $5,000.

9:57 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, West Market Street, Warsaw. Driver: Sydney A. Miller, 26, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Miller told police she was backing her vehicle out of a parking spot in the Owen’s supermarket parking lot and did not see the parked vehicle behind her, which caused the collision. Damage up to $2,500.
