The Solid Waste Board meeting focused on staffing during the television amnesty.

WARSAW — Business was brief at the Kosciusko Solid Waste Management District board meeting May 15.

KC Recycling Depot director Tom Ganser discussed the idea of hiring another person at the Depot’s warehouse. Due to volume growth, especially with a large percentage of electronics, Ganser stated that more coverage is needed.

“With the amnesty, we’re taking about 25 to 30 televisions a day,” Ganser said. “So we’d like to consider budgeting for a second person to hire on next year around this time because of this major increase in volume.”

The board approved the idea of hiring for a warehouse employee, with the pay at $12 an hour.

In other business:

  • The board approved meeting minutes.
  • The board approved claims of $30,276.31.
  • The board’s next meeting is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12.
