WARSAW — For eight weeks between Jan. 22 and March 18, a percentage of sales from select fuel pumps at Freedom Oil was donated to Jefferson Elementary School. The school plans to use the $1,734 collected to enroll students in educational summer camps.

The campaign was part of the CITGO Spirit Pump Initiative, which raised more than $65,000 last year for local schools, charities and community service programs.

CITGO locations install specially wrapped and branded fuel pumps. A designated percentage of the sales generated by these pumps is donated to a designated local organization.

The fuel company then provides an additional monetary match. This gives consumers the opportunity to support worthy causes and take part in improving their communities by simply filling up their gas tank.

Freedom Oil is a family-run business operated by Greg and Sheila Cobb.
