NAPPANEE – NorthWood is getting ready to host its girls sports camp.

Set for the week of June 4 at NorthWood Middle School, the combined volleyball-basketball camp is for girls in grades 1-9 for the 2018-19 school year. All campers will receive individual and group instruction as well as a camp T-shirt. First through sixth grades will run from 8:30-9:45 a.m. and seventh through ninth will go from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Campers will also be given the option for pick-up games from 1:30-2 p.m. each day.

Cost is $70 per camper for both sports sessions, or $45 for basketball or volleyball only. Multiple family campers will subtract $10 or $5 depending on the level of the participation.

The goal of the dual camp is to promote both sports through the teaching of fundamentals, in volleyball they will learn serving, passing, setting, spiking, digging and team play; in basketball they will learn shooting, rebounding, free throws, offensive and defensive strategy and team game situations.
