NorthWood Track: Ladies Claim Goshen Relays Title

GOSHEN – The NorthWood girls track team took home the hardware from the Goshen Relays Saturday.

The Panthers piled up 116 points to easily claim the Class B team title in the annual event at Foreman Field.

NorthWood won eight events on the day to earn the championship among the seven teams in Class B. Culver Academy was second with 68 points.

The Panthers won the Distance Medley as Whitney Wolfe, Kali Parisi, Erica Stutsman and Hannah Brubaker took top honors in a time of 13:57.62 Stutsman also teamed with Alea Minnich, Kali Parisi and Lexi Parisi to win the 1,600 relay in a time of 4:16.27.

The team of Reagan Hartman, Riley Hershberger, Lexi Parisi and Kenzie Moren earned the title in the 400 relay in 50.26. Hershberger, along with Kali Parisi, Jamamia Robinson and Reagan Koble on the 400 shuttle hurdle in 1:10.06.

The 800 relay team of Hartman, Hershberger, Lexi Parisi and Moren placed first in a time of 1:49.39. The 3,200 relay team of Wolfe, Stutsman, Kate Jarvis and Kendal Miller won in 10:47.23. The 800 sprint medley relay team of Moren, Hartman, Hershberger and Minnich were victorious in 1:58.38.

Karli McBrier won the discus event with a throw of 95-1 for the Panthers.

South Bend Washington was third in the final team standings with 50 points. Bremen was fourth with 49 points, followed by Wabash (47), Fairfield (43) and Mishawaka Marian (20).

Penn edged past Angola 92-90 to earn the Class A team title. South Bend Adams was third with 70 points, followed by Concord (61), Wawasee (45), Goshen (38) and New Prairie (5).

NorthWood will compete in the NLC Meet Tuesday night at Goshen.
