Dorothy L. Brubaker 99, Rochester, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday May 1, 2018, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born on June 8, 1918 in Huntington, the daughter of John and Eva LaDessa (King) Shobe. On Oct. 19, 1935 in Rochester, she married Robert Victor Brubaker. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1993.

Brubaker had lived in California for many years before returning to the Rochester area. She had been a homemaker and along with her husband founded the Germany Bridge Campsite. She had been a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sharing, reading and spending time over the years at Lake Manitou.

Survivors include her children, Carolyn and husband Keith Bathrick, Rochester; Robert Lee Brubaker, Rochester; Phyllis Arlene Croussore, Crestview, Florida; grandchildren, Pamela and husband James Pemberton, Rochester; Teresa and husband Dan Merry, Virginia; James “Jay” LeRoy and wife Carrie Beth Croussore, Crestview, Florida; James and wife Cheryl Knee, Pleasantview, Tennessee; step-granddaughter, Brenda Bathrick, Noblesville; numerous great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, James Croussore, brother, Lee Shobe and sisters, Belva Miller, Mabel Shobe and Lois Brundage.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday May 7, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may visit from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday May 7, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or to Kindred Hospice.
