SYRACUSE — A woman who decided to confront people who made an obscene gesture to her in traffic got more than she bargained for when one of those people pointed a gun at her. The other person was arrested.

Timothy James Cramer, 20, 602 S. Manor Drive, Syracuse, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony and pointing a firearm, a level 6 felony.

According to police, a woman told officers on April 20, she was driving her vehicle and following a white minivan with two males hanging out the window, screaming and holding up their middle fingers at her. The woman told officers she followed the vehicle into a parking lot, exited her vehicle and walked toward the minivan. She said Cramer exited the minivan and pointed a handgun at her. She told police she immediately ran away and called 911.

Cramer had been riding in the back seat of the minivan. He told police that it was the woman who began making obscene gestures and that he pointed the gun at her to get her to stop.

Officers took possession of Cramer’s firearm, which they reported as being loaded.

Cramer is scheduled for an initial hearing in Kosciusko County Superior Court One at 8:15 a.m. May 31
