FULTON — Triton’s baseball team was dimed, 12-2 in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game at Caston Monday night.

Leading by a tenuous 2-1 margin in the bottom of the fifth, Caston finally got to Triton starter Vincent Helton with three runs in the frame, then plated seven against closer Lucas Newman in the sixth to put the game away early.

Max Slusser and Keegan Mosier recorded Triton’s only two hits against Caston’s Brandon Kinser, who struck out nine while walking just one in a complete-game win. Kinser helped his cause at the plate with three hits and four RBIs as well. Slusser scored both of the Trojans’ runs in the loss.

Caston improve to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the HNAC. Triton slid to 3-8 with a 2-5 HNAC mark. The Trojans complete the series when they play host to the Comets tonight.
