Suspended License Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest Of Warsaw Woman

WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was spotted driving by a police officer who knew she had a suspended license. The resulting traffic stop led to her arrested for not only that infraction, but multiple drug-related charges.

Rachelle Dale Dickey, 27, 1692 E. CR 200N, Lot 1, Warsaw, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony, possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony, possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor and driving while suspended, a class A misdemeanor.

According to police, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department observed Dickey driving a red GMC pickup truck eastbound on East Winona Avenue on April 2. The officer knew Dickey’s license was suspended. The officer pulled up Dickey’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles information and made a positive identification of Dickey from her driver license photograph.

The officer made a traffic stop and deployed a K9 partner to to conduct what police call an “outer air search” of the vehicle. The dog made a positive alert, giving officers probable cause to search the vehicle.

Found inside the vehicle was a black case containing a syringe filled with a clear liquid, a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance and a spoon containing a white residue.

Inside a backpack police found mail belonging to Dickey, as well as an empty syringe, a syringe loaded with a brown liquid, a black digital scale and a plastic bag with a white, crystal-like substance. The white powder, clear liquid and crystal substance all field tested positive for methamphetamine, and the brown liquid field tested positive for heroin.

Dickey was arrested and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on $5,250 bond, surety and cash.
