A South Whitley woman was killed in a single vehicle crash in Whitley County and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

According to a report from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, Donna J. Rose, 73, died at about 2:44 p.m. Saturday when her car struck a tree. It happened on Whitley County Road 500 South near CR 800 West.

Rose was westbound on CR 500 South in her 2003 Chevrolet Impala when the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason and struck a tree. Rose died at the scene of the crash.
