WARSAW — In anticipation of the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 in May, Warsaw will welcome Indianapolis Motor Speedway Historian Donald Davidson for a special speaking engagement at noon Friday, April 27.

Davidson is respected around the world for his rich knowledge of racing history. What began as a dream of attending the Indianapolis 500 someday, turned into a love of career and a record of attendance at every Indianapolis 500 race since 1964. He was also inducted into the Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2010.

He will speak at a free public at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds Shrine Building.

As part of this event, the Indiana Racing Memorial Association will also unveil a historic marker in memory of local racer Tony Elliott. Elliot won 26 national sprint car races including two USAC national championships, plus holds the record for 60 sprint car race wins. The historical marker will be permanently placed in Warsaw.
