The Easter Bunny hands out candy to the children prior to the Milford Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt

MILFORD — Lots of local kids convinced their parents and grandparents to brave the chilly weather this morning, Saturday, March 31, and come out for the Milford Kiwanis annual Easter Egg Hunt. Kiwanis members hid 500 eggs over two areas of the Milford School playground for kids to find.

The hunt was open to children ages 10 and under. While waiting for the hunt to start, Bracken Thomas, age 6, said he hoped he would have his choice of candy or money when he turned his Easter Eggs back into the Kiwanis. He said he favorite candy was taffe.

Excitement rose when the children heard the sound of a fire truck siren, which announced the arrival of the Easter Bunny. Making a last minute stop before having to hide all those eggs, chocolate bunnies and baskets, the Easter Bunny handed out candy and posed for photos as the children gathered for the hunt.

Each child was allowed to collect six regular size eggs and one large egg and exchange them for cash. The regular size eggs ranged from 10 cents to 25 cents depending on the color.
