Nichole Lynn Eckert, 44, 10280 S. Roosevelt St., Silver Lake, is being charged with two counts of fraud, both level 6 felonies.

On Feb. 23, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department met with Eckert’s daughter who advised she had allowed her mother to live with her until she became tired of Eckert’s substance abuse. After Eckert left, the daughter discovered her debit card had been used at multiple businesses in Warsaw without her permission or consent.

The officer was able to obtain the bank statement and found that fraudulent purchases had been made twice at Martin’s Supermarket, two different gas stations and Handy Spot Liquor. The total amount of the purchases was $47.45.

After discovering the purchases, the daughter contacted Eckert who advised she was sorry.

On Feb. 24, officers responded to an intoxicated female, identified as Eckert, at Meijer. While speaking to Eckert, the officer asked for her daughter’s debit card. Eckert removed the debit card from her wallet and gave it to the officer.

Eckert was arrested on a warrant on March 27, and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail with a $5,500 surety and cash bond.
