WARSAW – Warsaw football frontman Jacob Rios announced his intent to continue his studies and football playing next fall at Trinity International University.

Rios was a two-year starter on the offensive line for coach Phil Jensen’s Tigers.  With Rios up front, Warsaw went 12-10 and reached a sectional title game both years.  As a junior, Rios was part of an offensive line that helped Warsaw establish a number of individual and team passing records.

Active on the gridiron, Rios proved his reliability by winning an Ironman Award, an ward given to players that have perfect attendance at workouts, practice, and contests.

Rios was also an instrumental figure representing WCHS in the school and in the community, working with the NFL Play program as a flag football coach, The WCS Blitz program, Feed My Starving Children, volunteered at Miller’s Merry Manor, and he was a part of the Riley Dance Marathon crew.

Intending to major in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Social Studies, Rios will compete for the Trojans and coach Lamont Butler.  Located north of Chicago in Deerfield Illinois, Trinity is a member of the NAIA and the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
