Several county highway matters were addressed at a brief Kosciusko County Commissioners meeting this morning. The first matter was the acceptance for county maintenance on Lakeview Trail in Cripplegate Crossing subdivision on Stanton Lake.

Located off of Armstrong Road, less than a mile of the road will now be maintained by the county highway department, effective immediately.

The second item was a speed limit ordinance. The speed limit on Old Road 30, from Leiter Drive to 425 feet west of Riverwood Ranch Road, Warsaw, will now be 35 mph. The current speed limit is 45 mph.

The commissioners approved the sale of a 1997 Ford cargo truck to be sold. The truck has a feed striper attached to it. The truck and equipment will be sold on an online auction, due to State Board of Accounts regulations.

An American with Disability Act transition plan was accepted after a chance for the public to make comments. No one from the public, however, made any comments. The ADA transition plan appeared in legal notices in two area newspapers, including The Mail-Journal.

“We will be in federal compliance with this plan,” said county administrator Ron Robinson.

Clerk of Court Jason McSherry told the commissioners that monthly bank fees will be paid out of the clerk’s IV-D incentive funds. The fees are $385 month, or $4,620 annually. The fees were being taken out of another county fund administered by commissioners.

In other news, the board:
• appointed Kristy Plikerd to Kosciusko County Convention, Recreation and Visitors Commission.
• approved a fair housing resolution, per Indiana code, for any future Community Block Grants that the county receives.

Commissioners are President Ron Truex, Brad Jackson and Bob Conley. The next meeting will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the county courthouse in Warsaw.
