Grace Azbell, 82, North Manchester, died at 11:45 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2018, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Salyersville, Ky. to Dorton and Dollie (Mullins) Manns.

She married Merrill Azbell in Silver Lake, Indiana on July 10, 1953; he died Dec. 5, 2013. She was a nurse’s aide at the Wabash County Hospital, and also was a cook at Peabody. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and baking

She is survived by two children, Steven Azbell of Laketon; and Terri Miller of Osceola; six grandchildren: Amy (Stacy Nice) Azbell-Nice of Laketon; Jason (Deanna) Azbell and Marcey (Cory Stone) Miller-Stone, both of Wabash; Martyn Miller of Fort Wayne; Danielle (Derrik) Shennefield and Brigham Azbell, both of Wabash; nine great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two sisters: Della (Lamoine) Leckrone of Warsaw; and Becky (Duane) Spangle of Claypool; and her brother, Mitchell Manns of Warsaw. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Rod Azbell, grandson, Matthew Miller, and five brothers, Eugene, Russell, Edward, Dayton, and Ortie Manns.

Per Grace Azbell’s request there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester.

Preferred memorial is the North Manchester Scout Hall.
