WARSAW — Zimmer Biomet, a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, announced today its sponsorship of the Ride Warsaw + Winona Lake Bike Share program. The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Warsaw, will unveil Zimmer Biomet-branded bike share bicycles at the 2018 Fat and Skinny Tire Festival in May for employee and community use around Warsaw and Winona Lake.

Four stations, each with five customized Zimmer Biomet bicycles, will be provided by Zagster, a leading U.S. bike share organization that allows individuals to rent bicycles via a mobile application. The stations will be located in downtown Warsaw, Boggs Industrial Park, The Village at Winona Lake and on the Grace College campus.

This sponsorship supports Zimmer Biomet’s continued work to encourage bicycling as an easy transportation option, an enhancement of health and wellness, increased morale and a sense of community and camaraderie.

“Zimmer Biomet’s investment in bicycling in Warsaw plays a central role in making our community a healthier and more sustainable place to live,” said Joseph Thallemer, the mayor of Warsaw. “We are excited to implement the Zimmer Biomet-branded bicycles to further enhance our increasingly bicycle-friendly community.”

Zimmer Biomet’s efforts to boost a more bicycle-friendly community span back to December 2016 when the company was awarded the bronze Bicycle Friendly Business Award by the League of American Bicyclists. With this award, Zimmer Biomet joined nearly 1,300 other businesses across the country.

“We are proud to be leading the charge to promote biking in Warsaw,” said Bill Fisher, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources. “Zimmer Biomet is part of a growing community that is not only enthusiastic about promoting wellness, but also helps us support joint health through exercise.”
