Barbara R. Shearer, 90, Plymouth, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, Feb. 13, 2018, at the Saint Joseph Regional Hospital – Mishawaka Campus.

She was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Argos, to the late Cecil and Helen (Eaton) Charters.

After graduating from high school, she went on to College and graduated from Cosmetology School.

Mrs. Shearer married Harry “Cliff” Shearer on April 21, 1946, and spent nearly sixty-years together; he would precede her in death on March 9, 2006.

She was a beautician for thirty-years at the Corner House in Plymouth.

She was a long-time member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She loved her family and animals, and had a great sense of humor. She took great pride in her appearance.

Surviving are her two sons Greg (Patty) Shearer, Plymouth; with their children: Johna (Jeff Snyder and great-grandchildren; Ryan, Lauren, Hanna and Gina (Steve) Lekarczyk; and their daughter: Aden, and great grandson, Jack; son: Dave (Cathy) Shearer, Huntington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son, Bobby Shearer.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 412 North Center Street, Plymouth, where a funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. following visitation. The Rev. Fr. Thomas Erskine Haynes will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
