Sharon I. Swick, 56, of Akron, Ind., passed away at 7:15 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at her home following a 2 year battle with cancer.
She was born July 24, 1956, in Peru, Ind., to Lomine and Deema (Hall) Bowyer. On Nov. 8, 1975, she married Terry G. Swick in Wabash, Ind.
Sharon was a homemaker. She had worked in healthcare and also she worked at Chamberlain Products of Akron. She was a 1975 graduate of North Miami High School and a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. She enjoyed embroidery, cooking and painting and Sharon was always an animal lover.
She is survived by her husband: Terry G. Swick, Akron; a daughter: Serena (David) Smith, Rochester, Ind.; four grandchildren: Kristina, Emma, David Jr. and Elizabeth; a twin sister: Shirley (William) Galloway, Macy, Ind.; four brothers: David Lee Bowyer, Phoenix, Ariz.; Danny Bowyer, Mishawaka, Ind.; John Bowyer, Chili, Ind.; Jimmy (Brandy) Bowyer, Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lomine and Deema Bowyer; a brother: Lomine Jr.; and a sister: Donna Elaine.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the funeral home with Pastor Butch Troke and Pastor Carol Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery, Akron.
