
Jon Allen Miller, 80, Warsaw, passed away at 12:37 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was born June 25, 1937, along with his twin brother Jan to Kenneth and Darlene (Tharp) Miller in Goshen. They joined an older brother, Duane.
He attended Waterford Elementary School, Goshen and graduated from New Paris High School, New Paris. He received an associate’s degree at International Business College, Fort Wayne in accounting.
He married Sarah Lee Lopp and raised their children, Leisha and Darren Miller, they divorced in 1977 then he was united in marriage to Sonya Kennedy in 1978 in Warsaw. Sonya had a daughter, Amy.
He has worked for Studebaker and BA Lehman accounting and then for Troyer Foods, Goshen, retiring after 33 years as an accountant. He was a member of the Warsaw First Brethren Church.
Being a twin made Miller a competitive person so his natural passion was sports, bowling, golf and softball. He would like to be remembered as one of the Miller twins who enjoyed life.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya Miller, Warsaw; a son Darren Miller, Osceola; two daughters: Leisha (Miguel) Ortiz, Atlanta, Ga.; and Amy (Verton) Troyer, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Logan Fincher, Atlanta; Jason (Cora) Kennedy, Huntington; and Brittany Kennedy, Warsaw; who made him proud. He also had several nieces and nephews, also his dog “Abby”. He is preceded by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be private.
A committal service will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel, Warsaw at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 29, with Pastor Howard Immel officiating.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family is requesting that the memorial contribution be made to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, PO Box 1906, Warsaw, IN 46581-1906
