Warsaw Wrestling: Estepp Shines On Senior Night
WARSAW – Dillon Estepp made his final match at home one to remember Wednesday night.
The WCHS senior celebrated Senior Night in style with a dominating effort in his match versus Concord.
Estepp pinned his foe in just seven seconds in the heavyweight match to highlight the Tigers’ performance in a 46-27 loss to the Minutemen in the final Northern Lakes Conference match of the season.
Brock Hogenson started the night strong for the Tigers at 132. After trailing 6-0 in the middle of the second period, Hogenson rallied within 6-3 entering the third. Hogenson then registered Warsaw’s first pinball of the night.
Jose Grimmett notched a win at 145 for the Tigers. He defeated Austin Galvan by a 4-0 final.
Grayson Drudge was also a winner for Warsaw in the 182 matchup. Drudge was able to get a series of takedowns and escapes late in the match for a 10-7 victory.
Brock Hueber notched a tough win at 195 pounds for the hosts. Hueber got an escape point in the final period and then controlled the rest of the match for a 3-2 win.
The Tigers honored seniors Estepp and Andrew Owens.
Warsaw drops to 5-22 overall and finishes at 0-7 in NLC action. The Tigers will compete on Saturday in the NLC Tournament at NorthWood.
