Boys Basketball

The Lakeview Middle School 7th grade boys basketball team edged Maple Creek 26-23 in overtime.

Jaxson Gould hit a 3-pointer at the final buzzer to give Lakeview the win. Gould paced his team with 10 points to go with nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

Nehemiah Wright had six points and German Flores four points and nine rebounds for the Tigers, who improved to 15-3 with the victory.

The Lakeview 8th grade boys team lost to Maple Creek 47-40.

Judah Simfukwe led the way with 16 points. Kyle Dawson had 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers, who are now 15-3.

Girls Basketball

The Lakeview 8th grade girls basketball team opened its season by topping Southwood 25-21.

Cora West led the winners with seven points. Sydni Purvis had five points, while Kiersten Parker scored four and Tori Jones and Lizzie Miner each had three points. Yasminn Avila had two points and Leslie Escutia one.

The Lakeview 7th grade girls squad won its opener by beating Southwood 26-17.

Lauren Grose led the way with seven points. Rylee Burns had six points and four steals and Lauren Eastwood five points. The trio of Macy Wayne, Tessa Graney and Macy Perry each had two points.

The Lakeview girls teams will play in the Crestview Tournament on Saturday.
