Linda May Hontz, 68, Ligonier, passed away at 12:19 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at North Ridge Village Nursing home in Albion.

She was born Dec. 9, 1949, in Wolf Lake to Floyd and Opal (Harroff) Murphy. On June 10, 1972, she married, George L. Hontz. He preceded her in death, Dec. 26, 2012.

She is survived by her son, Terry (Donna) Hontz, Ligonier; two brothers: George (Wanda) Murphy, Fort Wayne; Flloyd (Carol) Murphy, Syracuse; sister: Maryanna Leitch, Churubsuco; two sister-in-laws: Sharlene Murphy, Fort Wayne; and Mary Ann Murphy, Churubusco. Hontz is also survived by her grandpuppy, Ace, whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Opal Murphy, and two brothers, LeRoy and Estel Murphy. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents.

Hontz kept very busy with her hobbies. She really liked to crochet and create things with plastic canvas, along with chit – chatting through Facebook Messenger and leaving comments on family and friends walls. Watching game shows, reality T.V. programs such as Survivor and Big Brother with her son, Terry, and heading over to charger house for breakfast with her best friend, Jeanie. Above everything spending time with family and loving up on “Acey” the wonder dog, was her favorite thing to do.

A funeral service in her honor will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Ligonier Evangelical Church. Pastors John Lutton and Troy Diersing will officiate. Burial will be in Thorn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.
