Douglas Dee Wine, 60, Ligonier, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 9:45 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born on Aug. 30, 1957 the son of James D. Wine and Mary Lou Lash in Sturgis, Mich. On June 20, 1982, he married Marilyn Hoover; she survives.

Also surviving are four children: Lisa (Jeremy) Arnold, Kendallville; Justin (Heather) Wine, Nappanee; Paula (Shane Rouse) Wine, Ligonier; and Christopher (Chrissy Page) Wine, Cromwell; eight grandchildren; his mother, Mary Lou Jones and his very special grandmother, Maxine Wyer, both of Ligonier; along with two sisters: Tressa Jones, Ligonier; and Kathy (Scott) Breyfogle, Ligonier. He was preceded in death by his father.

In keeping with Wine’s wishes, no public visitation or services are planned. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sturgis, Michigan Toy Run.
