KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has declared a wind chill advisory for Kosciusko and surrounding counties from 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30,  through 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 31.

Very cold wind chills are expected. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 10 below zero to 15 below zero.

Bitterly cold temperatures and wind chill are likely to prompt additional advisories and possible warnings the next several nights.  A wind chill advisory means that cold air and wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken.
