Meijer Joins Recall Due To Possible Listeria Contamination
INDIANAPOLIS — Meijer is voluntarily recalling three of their products due to a potential listeria contamination.
Last week, Detroit apple grower Fresh-Pak recalled a variety of sliced apple products for the same contamination.
Meijer is recalling various Meijer brand packaged apples.
These products include:
- Meijer Michigan Harvest Salad – 10 oz. UPC: 708820684003
- Meijer Sharable Waldorf Salad – 16 oz. UPC: 713733538640
- Meijer Fresh Cranberry Apple Stuffing Starter – 18.9 oz. UPC: 719283379771
All the products were sold in plastic containers with “sell by” dates between Dec. 17 and Dec. 21.

The Meijer recall came just days after another Michigan-based apple producer recalled four types of apples because they also may have been be contaminated with listeria.
Jack Brown Produce, Inc. recalled Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp and Golden Delicious apples processed and shipped by one of its suppliers, Nyblad Orchards, Inc.
The company said the apples were shipped between Dec. 11 and Dec. 16 to stores in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri and Georgia under the brand name “Apple Ridge.”
Here are the products to look out for:
- Honeycrisp apples in two-pound clear plastic bags
- Gala, Fuji, and Golden Delicious apples in 3-pound clear plastic bags
- Fuji and Gala apples in 5-pound red-netted mesh bags
- Gala, Fuji and Honeycrisp apples that were tray-packed/individually sold.
People have reported those apples were sold at both Aldi and Kroger stores.
If you think you may have bought apples included in the recall, check the lot number on the product to confirm.
- Fuji: NOI 163, 165, 167, 169, 174
- Honeycrisp: NOI 159, 160, 173
- Golden Delicious: NOI 168
- Gala: NOI 164, 166
