Mark A. Friend, 64, Columbia City, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 20, 2017, at his home.

He was born Oct. 3, 1953 in Fort Wayne, a son of Robert Dewight and Mary L. (Beckman).

Surviving relatives include his wife, Jeryl S. (Hume) Friend; a step son, Joshua (Stefanie) Smith, Columbia City; six brothers: Theron Overman, Fort Wayne; Larry Friend, Rick Friend, Tom Friend, Dave Friend and Terry Friend, all of Columbia City; and two sisters: Linda Turner and Kathy Streby, both of Columbia City.

There will be no visitation or service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
