WINONA LAKE — An early morning fire destroyed a home at 801 Robson Road, Winona Lake, this morning, Dec. 19.

The fire began just before 4 a.m. The homeowners were inside the house when the fire began, but all three occupants were able to safely escape. The home was destroyed along with several vehicles. Due to the damage, it’s likely the fire began in the garage area.

Winona Lake Fire Department were assisted on scene by Pierceton, North Webster, Claypool and Warsaw fire departments. The fire took multiple hours to be put under control.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
