PHILADELPHIA — In November, Kate McClure was on her way from New Jersey to Philadelphia when she ran out of gas.

That mishap led to a second chance for 34-year-old Johnny Bobbit Jr., who took his last $20 and walked to a gas station to get gas for McClure.

As a thank you, McClure set up a GoFundMe page and raised nearly $400 thousand.

Over the weekend, Bobbitt bought a house with some of that money and is donating much more.

The Marine Corp veteran is giving some of his money to a grade school student who is helping another homeless vet and also donating to other organizations that have helped him over the years.

If you’d like to contribute, visit his “Paying It Forward” GoFundMe page.
