Practice Interviews

  • Mondays, Dec. 4-18 / 11 a.m. to noon

The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview, or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these mock sessions will prepare you.  You’ll learn the types of questions that could be asked in an interview – from basic to personal questions, and how to highlight your skills during the conversation. They’ll also cover how personal appearance makes a big difference in an interview. Please drop by between 11 a.m. and noon to practice your interview skills and receive a 25 percent discount coupon to the Goodwill retail store.

Search & Apply Online Workshop

  • Tuesday, Dec. 5 / 11 a.m. to noon        

Struggling with navigating the internet for jobs and applying online? Stop by the Career Center to search for open positions and get assistance with online applications. They’ll navigate multiple job search sites, ensure your info and attachments, resume and cover letter are entered correctly. They’ll also assist with what info to include, wording, and highlighting key words and skills to make sure you stand out in the application filtration systems companies may use.

What Career Are You Suited For?

Not certain what your next move is? Unsure of a career path? Want to switch careers? The Career Center can help you pinpoint your interests and discover what’s out there in the job market.  They’ll also advise you on the skills you’ll need to obtain that job. There are plenty of positions out there today; and the Career Center can point you in the direction that best suits your skills and abilities.

Setting Up a LinkedIn Account

  • Thursday, Dec. 7-14 / 11 a.m. to noon

Whether you are job hunting, needing leads, or attempting to do industry networking – having a professional, well designed LinkedIn profile is an excellent way to ensure that the right people can find you at the right time. LinkedIn allows you to post an easy, online resume profile that highlights your best work skill attributes, an overview and history of your experience, education and credentials. It’s time to get connected and advance your outreach with LinkedIn.

Warsaw Career Center’s Fourth Anniversary!

Stop in for a visit as people celebrate the Warsaw Community Career Center’s Fourth anniversary of serving the Kosciusko community, There will be cake, coffee and career assistance.

Determine & Develop Your Skills

  • Tuesday, Dec. 12 / 11 a.m. to noon

Everyone has skills, but on Tuesday, Dec. 12 the Career Center will discuss those skills, and not only learn how to emphasize them, but add to them to market you better for the competitive and ever-changing workforce landscape. They’ll focus on adding technical skills, from computer comfortability, to how to manage information, to researching and being detail oriented, and even communicating more effectively. Whatever your skills sets, this workshop is designed to update your work abilities to become more adaptable to the current and future workforce environment.

Jobs of the Future

  • Wednesday, Dec. 13 / 11 a.m. to noon

Learn what the future holds for the job market, what skills you’ll need, and what jobs to avoid based on industry growth and decline. The Career Center will examine how to prepare you for the up-and-coming world and its major job demands, including tech, ever growing automation, and how to transfer skills and modernize them for certain jobs. From healthcare to technology, to the contemporary manufacturing field – jobs will always transform. They’ll forecast where the money is for you. They also provide a path to lead you to the right education and funding to advance or obtain your skill base and qualifications.
