WARSAW — December’s First Friday will help usher in the yearly Christmas festivities with its “Hometown Holly Days” theme from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1.

The sixth annual Twinkle Light parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. The parade will begin at the old Owen’s Supermarket, continue east on Center Street and then turn north at Indiana Street to Central Park and back to Buffalo Street. Anyone is welcome to join the parade as the line up begins at 6 p.m., the only requirement is a lit up vehicle or float.

Children will receive free glow necklaces while supplies last at Central Park. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be participating in the Twinkle Parade, with plans to stop at the Center Lake Pavilion, where they will visit with children inside. There will be games and activities at the pavilion, along with face painters and balloon artists.

After visiting Central Park, families can head back downtown to enjoy carriage rides for a donation of a canned food item, dried food good, new toy or cash. Santa Claus will be at the Breakfast Optimist Club Santa House, located on the courthouse lawn.

In addition to all the fun, carolers will be traveling around downtown Warsaw for everyone’s enjoyment and the Salvation Army will be present with its Angel Tree and canteen.
