WARSAW — The Solid Waste Management Board welcomed Cary Groninger at the Nov. 14 meeting. Groninger is taking over former commissioner Ron Truex’s spot on the board. Groninger is the president of G&G Hauling and Excavating and brings a wealth of knowledge to the board.

In new business, director Tom Ganser announced that the Recycling Depot’s back room floor will be refinished this weekend. The action was approved at last month’s meeting. The project is one of many Ganser has taken on to improve the Depot’s building.

Ganser also spoke of America Recycle’s Day that took place Nov. 11. Ganser informed the board that, due to a brief amnesty period, over 700 gallons of paint were brought in for recycling. Ganser announced that this success was without any extensive marketing.

It was also announced that Ganser is partnering with SnapNation to help with search engine optimization. You can view some of the subtle changes on the Depot’s website.

In other business:

  • The board renewed its contract with the county to allow the county auditor to run the board’s finances.
