PIERCETON — A driver was airlifted with injuries after a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Around 6:30 p.m., Kosciusko County Sheriff’s were dispatched to the area of CR 900E and Ryerson Road in Pierceton. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle facing northbound in the southbound lane.

The driver, Brittany E. Russel, 23, Grant Street, South Whitley, was northbound on CR 900E traveling to work in Warsaw. A witness advised that he witnessed Russel’s vehicle leave the roadway in an instant.

For unstated reasons, Russel’s vehicle suddenly left the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Russel was airlifted to the hospital with a contusion to the head and complaints of pain throughout her body.

Total damage were estimated at up to $10,000.
