WARSAW — The Friends of the Warsaw Community Public Library are partnering with the Winona Lake Little Free Library to provide books for children and adults.

Friends of the Library President Merri Bottorff got involved when Lorraine Deffenbaugh, steward of the Winona Lake Little Free Library, requested books to help keep the Little Free Library stocked. In response, FOL members donated books and pledged an ongoing partnership to provide books to the Little Free Library.

Thursday, Oct. 12, was a meet and greet with Deffenbaugh, Holly Hummitch, director of Winona Lake Parks and Recreation and the Senior Center, Carol Noll and Merri Bottorff, representing Friends of the Library and Robin Fosnaugh, Warsaw Community Public Library. A bag of seasonal books was presented to Deffenbaugh during the meeting.

“If we can afford just one child or adult the opportunity to read, then this outreach is successful, truly benefiting the community,” stated Bottorff, adding, “It is our privilege and honor for Friends of the Library to be involved in this ongoing partnership with Lorraine.”

Friends of the Library will be holding the last big book sale of the year from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3,  and from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Warsaw Community Public Library in meeting room A-B.

An abundance of talking books, videos, CDs, DVDs and games will also be available in the Susie Stafford Room. All proceeds go to benefit and help support the Warsaw Community Public Library.
