Barbara Jean (Patton) Abrell passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at Bethel Point Nursing home in Muncie.

Barbara was born in Evanston, Ill. on Sept. 21, 1924 the daughter of Burl and Norma (Elliott) Patton.

She was a graduate of Burris High School, Muncie class of “42.”

Barbara married Marvin R. Abrell after meeting as lifeguards years earlier at Tuhey Pool.

They were married 67 years before his passing in 2010.

Barbara was a homemaker and did office work for Marvin’s Construction Co.  She belonged to many garden clubs.

Barbara was survived by her son Michael Patton (Linda) Abrell, sister Diane (John) Shaffer, grandchildren Brian (Kami) Abrell, Michelle (Justin) Cupp, great grandson Owen Cupp.

Barbara and Marvin will be reunited in burial at the Marion National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17.

Eastlund Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the Abrell family.
