
NORTH WEBSTER — As cold weather approaches, curling up indoors with a good book becomes more inviting. Stock up on winter reading or get a jump on holiday gift buying at the Friends of the North Webster Community Public Library book sale Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 26-28.
There will be hundreds of gently used, good quality books, movies, music CDs and puzzles on sale at bargain prices. Shoppers will find all kinds of books to appeal to all reading tastes including fiction, non-fiction, history, inspirational, large print, self-help, cookbooks, children’s and youth and much more.
The sale will be held in the North Webster Community Center with sale hours 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. – noon Saturday. All proceeds will go to support the work of the North Webster Library.
All kinds of prizes will be available at family Bingo 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23. If your child is a Wawasee school student out on fall break or a home schooler, bring them to the library for a fun time of playing bingo and winning prizes. It’s easy to play for all ages and everyone wins.
More family fun is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, during family movie time. The library will be showing a 2017 family road comedy film about a geeky kid who connives to attend a video gaming convention, hilariously derailing his family’s cross country trip. The movie is rated PG and runs 91 minutes. Just like the movie, the popcorn is free.
Get in touch with your inner child and read a children’s book. Voyager Book Club will be discussing children’s books at its next meeting 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23. Read a childhood favorite or something new and bring it to book club to share what you have read.
Revolving Recipe Round-Up will be sharing dishes and recipes 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. This month participants are asked to prepare a dish with orange colored ingredients and bring it for sharing and sampling. The library provides the table service and coffee. Participants bring the food and fun.
The library continues to add and update its collection each month. Stop by and check out the new arrivals located on the front book case where you will find new fiction, non-fiction, inspiration and large print titles.
