Lorabell Jane Buhrt, 83, entered her eternal life in Heaven on Oct. 20, 2017.

She was born March 3, 1934 to Ralph and Grace (Hall) Newcomer. On Dec. 31, 1953, she married Robert G. Buhrt in Nappanee. Robert and Lora lived on a dairy farm for forty years where they raised their family. Lorabell was described by her family as “a devoted, loving wife and mother who always gave of her time and heart.” She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking for her family.
She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Milford. She was a 10-year 4-H Leader in the Kosciusko community.
She is survived by her daughters, Lana (Ross) Deatsman of Leesburg and Patricia Buhrt of Goshen; sons, Don (Kim) Buhrt of Syracuse and Phil Buhrt of New Castle; five grand-children, Ben Deatsman (Misty) of Taiwan, Joy (Luke) Lauritsen of Arlington, NE, Beth (Matt) Klaassen of Indianapolis, Jodi Buhrt of Syracuse, and Jay Buhrt of Goshen; three great-grandchildren, Brock and Brant Lauritsen of Arlington, NE, and Quinn Klaassen of Indianapolis; and a brother, Ralph Newcomer, Jr. of Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 West CR 900N Milford. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Milford.
