Tippy Valley SportsPERU – The Tippecanoe Valley football team saw its season end with a first-round sectional loss at Peru Friday night.

The host Tigers took control early and never looked back in downing the Vikings 33-14 in the Class 3-A Sectional 27 contest.

Peru, now 5-5, advances to play Jimtown next Friday night in a sectional semifinal game. Valley sees its season close at 2-8.

Jordan Rader, the top rusher in the Three Rivers Conference this season, wasted no time in putting Peru on top with a touchdown run less than two minutes into the game. The hosts led 6-0 after the opening period and 20-0 at halftime en route to the win.

Rader, who entered the game with over 1,300 yards rushing, finished the night with three touchdowns. Peru rushed for 260 yards in the win.

The Vikings lost starting quarterback Tanner Trippiedi on the first series of the game to an ankle injury.

Noah Miller, who came on to replace Trippiedi, fired a pair of touchdown passes in the second half for the Vikings. Alex Morrison had both of the touchdown catches, one from five yards and the other from seven yards.

Jimtown beat Maconaquah 20-7 Friday night.
