KOSCIUSKO — A home detention officer with Kosciusko County Community Corrections was recently fired after removing an individual’s ankle monitor bracelet.

Patrick Olson was hired on as a home detention officer in April. Director Anna Bailey announced his termination during the Oct. 9 Community Corrections meeting. At that time, Bailey would not comment any further on Olson’s release from employment.

Official disciplinary action documents were recently made public that further detailed the termination. Olson violated a level 3 offence, neglect of duties, by removing an individual’s ankle monitor bracelet. The removal occurred on Sept. 29, and a disciplinary meeting was conducted on Oct. 4.

The incident is still being investigated and pending criminal charges.
