Shirley A. Fitzgerald, 77, of Warsaw, passed away at midnight, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born March 28, 1940 in West Prestonsburg, Ky. to Mart and Sula (Green) Wallen.

On Nov. 8,1955 she was united in marriage to Harvey A. Fitzgerald in Wabash. Her life was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Christmas was one of her favorite holidays because it was family time.  During her short time at Miller’s Merry Manor she made 3 good friends; Martha, Marabelle, and Dorcus. She enjoyed watching game shows and court shows on television. Shirley was married for 54 years to Harvey who preceded her in death in 2009.

She is survived by her children; Jim Wallen (and companion Elaine Harmon) of Louisville, Ky., Don Fitzgerald of Austin, Texas, Betty (Spouse Steve) Wilhite of Warsaw, and Lynn Fitzgerald of Warsaw; grandchildren; Ron (Spouse Lindzy) Carrie, Shauna (Spouse Chris) Goble, and Jim Wallen Jr. of Lafayette; five great-great grandchildren also survive.  She is preceded in death by her Husband and her Sister, Phyllis DeLong Findlay.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will officiate the service.  Interment will be in South Pleasant Cemetery, North Manchester.
