Elkhart County Sheriff’s Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying an armed robbery suspect who made off with an undetermined amount of cash after robbing a local gas station.

At approximately 2 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, an unidentified suspect entered into Smith’s Fast Food Mart and gas station, located at 30949 Old U.S. 33. Upon entry into the store, the suspect displayed a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the register.

The suspect, who was described as a black male of unknown age, was wearing a dark hooded style sweatshirt, black baggy pants, black gloves and had a white mask covering his face. Police today released two surveillance store images and are asking for help in identifying the suspect.
