WARSAW — An Albion man who took a vehicle at gunpoint within Kosciusko County was sentenced yesterday, Oct. 12, in Kosciusko Superior Court I.

Marty Robbins, 48, Albion, was sentenced on a charge of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 3 felony with an habitual offender enhancement, resulting from an incident in May 2015.

Robbins and his wife Dawn allegedly took a vehicle at gunpoint from a victim in Kosciusko County. The couple drove the vehicle to Noble County where they then took another vehicle at gunpoint.

A short pursuit ensued through Whitley County. When the couple was finally apprehended, a revolver was found.

Charges against Dawn Robbins were dismissed.

“There’s nothing you can say to chastise me more than I have already chastised myself,” Robbins told the court.

Judge David Cates sentenced Robbins to nine years at the Indiana Department of Corrections in regards to the robbery charge. Five of those years were suspended to be served on probation. Cates then sentenced an additional six years at the IDOC for Robbins’s habitual offender enhancement, totaling 10 years to be served. Robbins received 579 days jail time credit.

Robbins has already received 12-year sentences from both Noble and Whitley County for the additional robbery and police pursuit.
