Pauline E. Vardaman — UPDATED

Pauline E. Vardaman, 75, Rochester, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at her residence.

On July 21, 1942, Pauline was born in New Buffalo, Mich. to Morton and Nora Hefner Brooks.

Pauline and Robert Vardaman were married on October 14, 1960 in Michigan City. They shared 57 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced a daughter and three sons, with four grandchildren adding another branch to the family tree.

The Vardaman family moved to Rochester in 2003 from New Paris. As a “Domestic Engineer,” Pauline enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She was an avid gardener and also liked a good game of cards.

Left to cherish the memory of Pauline with her husband, Robert Vardaman Sr. are three children: Robert Vardaman Jr. and companion Judy of Michigan City, Jerry Andrew Vardaman of Indianapolis, Carla Reynolds and husband Kenneth of Rochester; four grandchildren: Donald Lee Christensen Vardaman Jr., Ronald Eugene Vardaman Jr., Emily Ann Burkholder and Hunter Andrew Wyatt Vardaman.

Preceding Pauline in death are her parents and a son: Ronald Eugene Vardaman Sr.

Private family services were on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St. Rochester with Mike Bingle officiating. Interment will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery.
