Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 9, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Belinda Williams, 53, South Bronson Street, Warsaw, and Jeffrey A. Funk, 32, South CR 1275E, Akron. Williams’ vehicle rear-ended Funk. Damages up to $10,000.
7:01 a.m., Monday, Oct. 9, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: James C. Shuster, 50, West Old 30 Road, Warsaw, and Joshua A. Meade, 39, South Bruner Road, Warsaw. Shuster failed to yield to Meade. Damages up to $10,000.
1:33 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, North SR 15, south of West CR 600N, Warsaw. Drivers: Philip M. Cartwright, 43, Briarwood Boulevard, Goshen, and Rosalio Alvarez, 20, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Cartwright’s vehicle changed lanes and collided with Alvarez. Damages up to $25,000.
7:19 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, East US 30, west of South CR 450E, Warsaw. Drivers: Lori L. Lupica, 46, South CR 900W, Mentone. A deer struck Lupica’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
3:56 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, Husky Trail and North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Eric r. Lefavour, 46, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, and Jenna M. Mock, 29, North royal Oak Court, Warsaw. Lefavour and Mock failed to yield to each other. Damages up to $5,000.
1:05 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, North SR 13, south of East CR 500N, Leesburg. Drivers: Morgan Adkins, 16, Pierceton, and Holly A. Sautter, 47, East CR 450N, Leesburg. Adkins and Sautter’s vehicles collided as the both attempted a left hand turn at the same time. Damages up to $10,000.
2:25 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, East CR 400S, west South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher D. Rager, 44, South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Ragers’ police vehicle hit a flock of turkey vultures in the road way. Damages up to $5,000.
10:22 a.m., Friday, Oct. 6, West Main Street and South Franklin Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Rickey G. Stavedahl, 65, East Main Street, Mentone, and Sarah S. Kimble, 48, West SR 14, Rochester. Stavedahl failed to yield to Kimble. Damages up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:18 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, North SR 13, north of East Waco Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Billy L. Sroufe, 57, South Hill Drive, Silver Lake, hit a deer. Damages up to $1,000.
7:34 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, North Huntington Street, south of East Main Street, Syracuse. Britney F. Thompson, East Hatchery Road, Syracuse, reported the front bumper of her car missing after returning from a business. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:53 p.m., Sunday Oct. 8, Meadow Lane, north of Rosella Road, Warsaw. Darla Gagnon reported a hit and run to a utility pole outside her house. Vehicle is unknown at this time. Damages up to $750.
4:48 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8, West US 30 and North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Wayne B. Shumway, 35, Oberlin Road, Gladden, MI, and Jason C. Pogue, 44, South Wausau Street, Warsaw. Shumway’s vehicle ran a red light and struck Pogue’s vehicle in the intersection. Injured; Shumway complained of arm pain and was treat onsite. Jessica Poge, 13, Warsaw, passenger in Pogue’s vehicle, complained of face pain. She was treated onsite. Damages up to $50,000.
1:01 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8, Lake City Highway, east of North Detroit Street exit, Warsaw. Drivers: Kevin J. Clark, 25, Gulfview Bl E, Valparaiso, and Jason T. Mauk, 47, West Old 30, Etna Green. Clark’s vehicle swerved into Mauk’s parked car on the shoulder of the road when attempting to avoid stopped traffic. Damages up to $10,000.
3:23 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Roberta Craig, 44, East Emeline Street, Milford, and Cynthia L. Starbuck, 70, Deerfield Path, Warsaw. Craig’s vehicle backed into Starbuck’s. Damages up to $2,500.
2:19 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: James R. Goble, 33, West CR 700N, Leesburg, and Alma R. Jimenez, 23, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Goble’s vehicle backed into Jimenez’s in Walmart parking lot. Damages up to $2,500.
1:45 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, East Center Street and South Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kathleen G. Smolen, 17, Warsaw, and Kimberly M. Dresch, 46, East Clark Street, Warsaw. Smolen ran a red light and hit the rear-end of Dresch’s vehicle. Damages up to $25,000.
8:27 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, East Winona Avenue, east of North Bay Drive, Warsaw. Driver: McKenna K. Cruz, 19, West Amerige, Fullerton, Cal., hit a deer. Damages up to $2,500.
3:23 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, East US 30, west of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert D. Allen, 86, West CR 675N, Leesburg, and David A. Hochstetler, 58, North CR 750W, Etna Green. Allen nicked Hochstetler when changing lanes. Damages up to $2,500.
2:07 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, North SR 15, north of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Jessica E. Bruce, 42, West SR 114, Silver Lake, and Joseph A. Williams, 82, South CR 25W, Lebanon. Bruce’s vehicle sideswiped Williams’ as a result of him avoiding the head-on collision as Bruce drove southbound in the northbound lane. Damages up to $5,000.
1:38 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, North SR 15 and Plaza Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Jessica E. Bruce, 42, West SR 114, Silver Lake, and Herbert S. Teeter, 77, West 12th Street, Winona Lake. Bruce drove southbound in the northbound lane directly into Teeter’s vehicle. Bruce claims to have no memory of the accident. Injured; Bruce was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for diabetic complications and chest pain. Barbara Teeter, passenger of Herbert’s vehicle, West 12th Street, Wiona Lake, complained of chest pain and was transported to KCH. Damages up to $25,000.
6:46 a.m., Friday, Oct. 6, US 30, west of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Ryan R. Burnworth, 40, 1450 East Market Street, Huntington. Due to slick conditions, Burnworth’s vehicle and trailer jack-knifed upon slowing down at a stop light. Damages up to $2,500.
2:43 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, East Center Street and South Cleveland Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jenna R. Shriver, 31, South Cherry Street, Akron, Kathy Troyer, 63, Meridian Street, North Manchester, and Marvin R. Mullins, 29, Tippecanoe Drive C, Warsaw. Shriver failed to yield to Troyer and was pushed into Mullins’ vehicle due to the collision. Injured; Troyer complained of head pain but refused medical treatment. Damages up to $25,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:37 a.m., Friday, Oct. 6, East Pierceton Road and South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Drivers: Shelby M. Berkey, 18, East Calhoun Street, Claypool and W. P. COX, 49, East Blossom Lane, Warsaw. Berkey’s vehicle rear-ended Cox’s. Damages up to $2,500.
