Warsaw Football: Frosh Rally Past Warriors

Warsaw SportsWARSAW – The Warsaw freshman football team used a second-half rally to knock off Wawasee Thursday night.

The host Tigers outscored the Warriors 20-8 in the final half to come up with a 27-20 win in the Northern Lakes Conference contest at Fisher Field.

Wawasee led 12-7 at halftime before Warsaw came back for the league win.

Colton Wampler led the way for Warsaw with a pair of rushing touchdowns. He was also 3-4 on PATs for the Tigers.

Aaron Greene and Jacob Hawn each ran for one score for the winners. The trio of Wampler, Greene and Hawn led the ground game for the Tigers.

The duo of Austin Bays and Zach Ransbottom each had a quarterback sack to lead the Warsaw defense. The foursome of Bays, Austin Slone, Ben Brennan and Zeek Reed led the defensive effort.

Warsaw improves to 7-2 overall and moves to 4-2 in the NLC.

Warsaw hosts NorthWood next Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
