NORTH MANCHESTER – It was a mighty fine day for Rochester and the Rohr family Saturday at the Three Rivers Conference Cross Country Championships.

Thomas Rohr was the top overall male, taking honors at 16:27 and helping his team to third place while Sarah Rohr was fourth overall, helping Rochester to a team title on the girls side.

Sarah’s teammate, Kelsey Tyler, was the overall female champion at 19:17, and combined with Mallory Hiatt (6, 20:13), Daphne Nolen (12, (21:12) and Lexi Kelly (13, 21:28), the Zebras scored 36 points to edge a consistent Maconaquah side’s 42 points. Madison Winegardner paced with Braves with a 19:34, runner-up finish. Jaelyn Webb of Manchester was third overall at 19:58, helping the Lady Squires to third in the team standings with 72 points.

Thomas’ time on the boys side edged Wabash’s Dereck Vogel (16:36) for honors in the boys race. Vogel’s team, however, had better depth, in finishing second, third, sixth, 14th and 15th for 40 points and the team title. Manchester was second at 87 and Rochester third at 110. The Squires had Lance Bennett lead the team with a 10th place time of 17:39.

Tippecanoe Valley was fifth in the girls race, led by Jadyn Kolesiak’s 21:46, placing 16th overall. Valeria Jimenez (18, 22:05), Ava Craig (27, 23:25), Haley Hoover (29, 23:40) and Marissa McLean (37, 24:47) made up the Lady Vikes’ output.

Whitko had two runners active, Elizabeth Foutz at 26:24 and Angel Moyer at 28:22.

Tippecanoe Valley was sixth in the boys race, led by Jordan Owens’ 17:30, placing eighth overall. Matthew Howes (29, 18:50), Colt Demske (34, 19:15), Justin Peconga (42, 19:43) and Ethan Hartman (46, 20:00) made up the Vikes’ output.

Whitko was 10th in the standings, led by Logan Busz’s 18:24, placing 20th overall. Zack Freel (33, 19:11), Ezra Miller (54, 20:50), Jeremiah Hildebrandt (62, 22:05) and Caden Compton (65, 26:24) made up the Wildcats’ output.

Tippecanoe Valley heads to the Culver Academy Sectional next weekend, Whitko to the Fort Wayne Northrop Sectional.
